CAROLINA 5, SHARKS 1
After two exciting but frustrating home games, the Sharks took a step backwards against the Carolina Hurricanes who were the 4th best team in the Eastern Conference last season. Despite the final score, it was a memorable game for Michael Misa who made his NHL debut for San Jose. Carolina scored first and then the Sharks tied the game a little over three minutes later as William Eklund lit the lamp for the first time in the 2025-26 campaign. But unfortunately, Carolina lived up to its nickname. They stormed past Team Teal scoring four unanswered goals. San Jose did not even get a shot on goal in the third period getting outshot 43-17 for the game. The Sharks will head out on the road for their first road game, taking on the Utah Mammoth on Friday before returning to the Tank to take on Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, October 18
