  1. I'm guessing Ingram and Jonsson will be the 2 goalies in Bakersfield to start the season, and Day/Tomkins will be in the ECHL. Ingram is a good option in case Pickard or Skinner really struggle.

  2. What will the goaltending depth look like this season now that the Oilers have acquired Connor Ingram?

    NHL – Skinner, Pickard

    AHL – Ingram, Tomkins

    ECHL – Jonsson, Day, Ungar…???

I think there is likely another trade to occur involving a goaltender for the Oilers before the season starts, but we shall see!

Also video correction: Utah is retaining 800K, not 900K. Cap hit is still 1.15M if called up to Edmonton this season. My apologies!

  3. I know Oiler fans have perennial delusional grandiose optimism syndrome but is it just me or does this roster feel increasingly special?

  4. do you know whats disappointing and disgusting Kaprisov just signed 17mil 8 year extension starting next year to play HOCKEY thats why McDavid is holding of waiting fornthe 104 mil cap then going to hit the oilers with 18-20 mil contract

  5. I love this pickup!! Knobby from the same town. From what ive heard, families know each other. Hes got huge upside! I think we get a Stu and Ingram duo splitting nearly 50/50 by the new year!

  6. Pretty hard to find fault in this deal. It opens up a new option albeit the alignment of stars would need to be right for Instagram 🙂

    A) Stu and/or Picks are sub .900 NHL by this ~December
    B) Instagram is above .900 AHL this ~December
    C) Instagram can perform above .900 NHL from Dec through till playoffs

Then bam, you got yourself a new playoff goalie.

And that aside, you've also got option to trade either of the 3 at Trade Deadline.

Is he unrestricted next summer? The only downside is if his numbers don't look good this season and needs more development (or is lost cause) then this has all been for naught.

  7. Is it just me, or is Stan the most competent GM Edmonton has had since like forever? Every single move he’s made has either paid off in spades or been low-risk high reward.

And no, I don’t fault him for Broberg/Holloway. I have a feeling the decision on those two was made long before Edmonton hired Stan.

  8. I don't get it. The two goalies that they have now (Skinner and Pikard) should be there depth back up goaltenders. If Oilers want to win they need a proven number 1 goalie.

  9. His mom died. That's why he was in the player assistance program. He is from Saskatchewan, so maybe being here and being closer to family will help.

  10. Oilers have been on a stream of luck with low risk pick ups (Kapanen, Klingberg being the most recent examples) so I like this.
