We go through the players that we think are close to solidifying their spot in Boston’s opening night lineup, who the extra D frontrunner is and which two players fit the bill to be the Bruins’ extra forwards. Plus Casey Mittelstadt talks to Scott about his down season last year, being traded to Boston and more.

Mittelstadt interview starts at 59:50.
Eyssimont may have a shooting percentage of around 6%, but how many of those shots create a rebound that the goalie can't handle and someone else puts in? That's why this stat is really incomplete in my mind.
Captain vs Leader – Captain is an extension of the coaching staff and appointed by the coach and management. It is not the best player or solely a leader. Captains are a part of the communication plan. Leaders are strong personalities that people may follow- but could be bad for the team message.
Let's not get to excited over a couple preseason goals.
Look how Beecher started out couple years ago, he's been a complete dud every sense.
I thought Z should of stayed on the ice.
Poor leadership quality for the young guys. That's not culture
I don't see the point of playing all these non nhl players in pre season.
There are only a couple spots available and only about 3 or 4 guys good enough to make those spots.
Play your regular players, see who plays best with who.
Don't wait until the regular season to play your regular players, and end up playing like shit for two weeks while everyone learns the system and gets up to speed.
I continue to be stunned by the love for Hampus Lindholm! Last we saw him, he was skating away scared from anything that was happening on the ice and coughing up the puck with ease…and as for Zadorov, he stiffed out on us last year. Please just play the players with heart and skill…I'm hoping for much better this year…go Marco!
Both Gord Kluzak and my friend Michael Thelven both got their career end with the same injury that 🍝 Pasta has so not good🙏🙏
one comment- Eyssimont is significantly faster skater than Koepke. B's will need more speed, especially if a fast guy like Beecher (who seems to lack any scoring touch) will also lose his spot.
Question: What do you guys think will be the backup plan if Swayman continues to struggle this season? Probably won't be able to trade him with that big contract and we will be stuck with him for the next 6/7 years especially when his no trade clause kicks in? I heard so many talk shows hoping Swayman will be better this year, but 'hope' is not a plan. Would you guys be able to ask Sweeney during their season opening press conference?
We’ve seen Pasta make that Blumel turnover almost every game.
