Hey Brodie and John, Really good conversation boys. I understand that many may not understand the world from the AHL perspective but, honestly John there is no greater responsibility in pro hockey to my mind than the role of the AHL coaching staff. I like what I hear when I have heard you and Brodie talk or other interviews I have heard you give John and my biggest excitement for the organization is the 3-7th round picks that you and your staff will have a big hand in guiding these young men.
I have talked a lot about how vital and critical those later round players are to the ultimate success of any NHL team. Guys like Nabakov, Pavelski, Braun, Wingels, Jake Wallman and many, many more. Every successful NHL team has an array of later round picks who spent time in the AHL learning and honing their craft in order to become the players that will land them in the NHL and lead them to a viable NHL career. Like Barkley Goodrow!
Thanks guys and John, I wish you all the best this season. I am excited to see the waves of young talent that will be matriculating up through the system to learn their craft and in the process bolster the Barricuda. I hope that some day soon we get to see you and your guys hoisting the Calder Cup! A fitting reward for the hard working staff of the Barricuda!
Good to hear he's growing as a coach. What he does with the 'Cuda is an essential part of the success of the franchise overall. A Calder Cup would be among the best possible accomplishments for the organization this season
