  1. I’m not sure why you so strongly dislike Noel Acari. He plays on a line in in a manner that is exactly what they want on a grind line and PK. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  2. I’m still trying to figure out how a team wins with a $10M AAV pylon of a defenseman playing over 20 minutes a night. But by all means, let’s focus on the 4th line RW.

  3. Dk, completely agree with hallanar. I know it was a bad loss but that kid never quit, made some nice plays and got Igor 'd a few times. I felt like his good game went unnoticed by many because of the score/loss.

  4. I want to see Dumba or Clifton with Brunicke. Get someone on the left pinballing around and punishing guys physically to free up Brunicke to move the puck. He’s so damn smooth with the puck on his stick.

  5. Eager to see results of this west coast trip. Does this team have enough talent to stay above .500, and if not, how far will they fall.

  6. DK – I'm gonna push back a little on Koivunen. I thought he played a solid 200ft game, but where he came up short was keeping up offensively with Sid's line. Once he was swapped with Kindel's line he looked instantly more comfortable offensively, but obviously with Rust coming back in things get complicated. I'd personally sit Novak or Acciari. I think Koivunen getting bottom six minutes serves him better than top minutes in WBS at this point.

  7. This is a bad team. It's supposed to be a bad season. Expectations need lowering. There will be no playoffs. There will be better draft picks for the next few years. With some luck we might be back in the playoffs in five years.

  8. Left handed defenseman are a problem sure, but what if certain high profile righties made more of an effort as an example for the youngins? Like, I dunno, maybe actually trying to take away the pass option on a two on one??
But I know, I know, that guy can’t be troubled with such trifling things, after all he’s a DINO(defenseman in name only).

  9. great J1Q today. I have hated the local broadcasts ever since the big switch. Its boring and hardly audible at all. Not really related but putting Potash behind the desk was a mistake…..took the fun out of the commentary

  10. I drove from Detroit out to Pittaburgh for the game on Saturday, and boy that crowd was loud. Even late in the third, you still have a loud crowd trying to pump the team up. The broadcasts don't do the fans a service with how quiet they present it.

  11. Can't wait until they actually pull Acciari out of the line up. Nothing has really changed until that happens.

  12. I don't know why, but I am definitely optimistic about this season. We're not cup contenders, but I do feel like this is a lower seed playoff team. It's still October, and there's many more games left in the year.

  13. I was at the game Saturday night. The crowd wasn't anything close to the Fleury preseason game I went to, but it certainly wasn't a dead crowd. Standing ovation for Sullivan, huge cheer for Kindel's first goal. But when the game turned from competitive to booing the refs in a blowout, it's not the best experience, but that's to be expected.

  14. I can't remember if it's TNT or ESPN, but one of them has a terrible balance between the crowd and the play x play, and I can barely hear the pxp over the ambience.

That said, Saturday's crowd wasn't great. I could hear LGR chants more often and half the time, louder than the LGP chants to the point that Iceburgh had to hit the horn on several occasions to get the crowd to cheer louder. The LGP chants don't happen organically too often, or worse is when they do and Iceburgh hits the horn and kills it early – it's something that has been happening for years.

  15. Get rid of Rust. Taking up a youth spot and they can get more long term by trading him now. If that makes Crosby leave then so be it, he was going to leave anyways if the team didn't make the playoffs

  16. Today's topic of player effort and results is why I've told friends that I would not be surprised if both Novak and Tomasino ended up being moved, along with all of the usual suspects. Neither of them seems to be very interested in digging for pucks, physical play, etc. I'd wager that, if that doesn't change, we'll see them moved before Thanksgiving.

  17. When Novak was dealt for, I commented on how it was a poor trade….Novak has turned into EXACTLY as he has been as a player….perimeter, not able to win 50/50 battles, doesn't always make there right plays offensively (making the extra pass or when to shoot and not pass)…..I got in to a few 'argument/debates' on here when I commented….so far he is exactly what he was before they got him and was championed as a great 2nd line replacement…….I think Ville can be sent down easy and hence made sense since his play wasn't up to par….BUT I will say he is not a first line winger….he was put in a position that he just couldn't keep up with Sid offensively…..I think 2nd line winger is his ceiling….I would try him there if he gets called up or third line….he will stand out I think there.
