    Sharks gonna offer two unrestricted 2026 1sts (their own and EDM) and an unrestricted 2027 1st + one top prospect for both Thompson and Dahlin. Equivalent of 4 1st round picks. The one thing Buffalo has, they have good d-men behind Dahlin. Power and Byram are both young, so is Kesselring. They have Radim Mrkta in their system, one of the top 2 or 3 RHD prospects not in the NHL at this moment. That's a solid and very young top 4. As much as trading Dahlin seems crazy, they actually are OK on the blue line if Dahlin goes.

    Whether the holding company that owns the Sabres is profitable may be a matter of debate, but what isn’t is that from the first full NHL season during which Terrence Pegula has owned that holding company, the Sabres have not made a playoff appearance (with his having purchased that holding company in February 2011). Every remaining NHL team, following the 2011 postseason, has already won at least one playoff series, and thus made at least one playoff appearance. If I were fan of the Sabres, I wouldn’t be holding up my hopes too high for a turnaround.

    Here is the kicker. Terry Pegula has donated tens of millions to Penn State to make their program a national power. Enough to allow them to pay McKenna the NIL money to lure him there. McKenna can now use that cash to avoid signing with Buffalo if/when they bottom out and try to take him at first overall. It doesn't get more hockey ironic than that

    at this point if sabres can get 6 first round picks between 2026 and 2027 for thompson tuch and dahlin and get another pair of first picks for power and byram im all for a reset. just completely redraft the entire roster and bring in an experienced no bs coach
