You’re too soft on Leafs. How is it possible to play with such a lack of urgency? How can guys who’ve played together for almost a decade have such an incredible lack of chemistry? They’re starting to look old and slow. And no one seems to care. It’s beginning to look like the team is just giving Berube the collective finger. It’ll be interesting to see how he responds.

You can't change the DNA of a person or a team just by having a coach decree it is so. You can't change a player's personality by implementing a "system" . These guys just aren't "psycho" in the same way that the Tkachuks are. The way Bennett is. Even McDavid; look into that guy's eyes! The Maple Leafs want to win; sure, who doesn't. But it has to be a part of your soul; not a system, not a media phrase like "DNA". I predict the Leafs will do as well, basically, as they did last season; they'll make the playoffs, but not win the division, exit in the 2nd round.

1. Marner is gone.

What was wrong with McMann? Think he worked well with Knies. I think I would like to see more of McMann on the first like with Kniee and Matthews. One game isn't enough. And more constant for 3 to 5 games to see how it works long term.
2. Cowan a good fit? I'm not against seeing Cowan on the second line with Nylander. Again 3 to 5 games tryout to see how it works long term.
3. Plays don't look good. 3 on the wall near the puck. Why? There are certain zones that are must be covered. In both the opposition and defense zones there should always be one player infront of the net, one player to the opposite wall of where the puck is and one player parallel to the net but near the blue line. That should create one triangle. The other triangle to include the other two players who might be closest to the puck. One player battling for the puck, one player just out side the battle for the puck looking for a popcorn bursting or waiting to attack the opposition player if the opponent wins the puck that was in the battle.
You'd think that by now we'd all be able to agree that nothing they do during the season matters. The only thing that matters to the fanbase is what they do in the post season. The amount of people here clowning on the leafs because the Red Wings have to play these 2 games like theyre the stanley cup is lunacy.

You know Maple Leafs down bad when all they focus on is clowning other teams is “You don’t have as many fans or know hockey as well us” since most of Ontario cheers for us and we’ve been around over a century. I say this as Blackhawks fan (team around century plus too).
The reality is 21 other teams have won one or more🏆s in modern era with more than 6 teams (12+ teams since 67-68 season) and 26 have made at least one finals since 1968 playoffs. Leafs aren’t one of them! Focus on that not clowning other smaller fan bases.🥴
You guys are completely wrong about Tavares' fall-away jumper. There are so many times where he hits that shot blocker side…He often has to hit that from loose pucks in bad areas to give away the puck and he often doesn't get a direct tape-to-tape pass in that scenario with this team. We are talking about one of the greatest goal-scorers of the generation, here. Go look at the replay and tell me he got a good look.
These two guys calling the Red Wings a team of divers is comical. Sometimes guys lose their balance, but calling Kane a diver shows these two guys don't really know the game, did they ever even play the game? I would think Toronto would have more educated people on hockey. Also, Vegas fans are fans from all over including the northern states and Canada, these guys make it sound like Vegas fans don't know hockey. Half T mobile Arena is full of families that had kids in hockey from the north, former players, guys need to learn markets outside of Trono.
