The Leafs will feature Knies and Cowan this year. I predict 10 fewer wins most probably by OT and shootout losses as well as a fight to get into the playoffs. The "fans" that expelled Mitch Marner will be even more triggered by what they get because of it. Thanks to all those that made Marners end here such an unnecessary thing.

Sometimes, (Or perhaps a lot of the time), the difference in a game is who takes better advantage of opportunities. Today, that team was Detroit. Also, Talbot played very well.
McMann is so underrated. I love this guy
On the bright side they out played the wings, Talbot was the sole reason they won that shit, and key mistakes around the box. Penalties don’t help either. But still Cowan looked good, felt like either Roy or macelli could’ve score a piece each but goaltending was better for the wings today. Not a total loss boys, tmrw night bounce back.
When Jarnkrok is outscoring 24.5 M of forwards in Matthews and Nylander that is not good.
May as well tank now!

Once again Jelly, thank you so much for your highlights made available so promptly, even though it wasn't exactly what I wanted to see.
What's with these guys ? I know it's still very early in the season but, judging by what I'm seeing they need to get a grip on themselves fast, otherwise it will be just more of the same. I hope not ! So many shots waisted… so many it hurts !
44 is an embarrassment. There was no reason to ice that puck in the last minute, you had the space. How many goals was he on for tonight? I think it’s easier to count how many he wasn’t on for… it might’ve been zero.
It’s Auston Matthews who really is the greatest odd man out. He is not capable of being a leader. He is not capable of putting a team on his back which is exactly what he needs to do and is being paid for especially without marner who I am disgusted of hearing the media bringing up constantly. Oh no they are losing a 100 point player! Thats bullshit! You can’t win a Cup with one or two even three players. Never works. This is a team effort. Matthews shows no interest of leading a team effort. Simply put he is a loser and always will be in the NHL. Same can be said about Nylander. The sooner the Leafs can trade these two the better. It’ll be a few years before things get back on track but there’s some nice pieces to start with and I feel both Treliving and Berube are fully capable to figure things out.

The Leafs are just playing sloppy hockey.
Leafs look old and slow at times and have no clinical finishing. They outshot Detroit but couldn’t finish. Power play and penalty killing needs work. Defence not tough enough.Stolartz has been ok but not good enough to steal a game. Without a setup man like Marner, Matthews won’t even get 30 goals this year. Leafs will be lucky to get a wildcard.
My expectations for the Leafs this year are pretty low, unfortunately.
I haven't enjoyed announcing this much since way back in the days of Danny Gallivan. Great game, my favorite announcing. It's going to be another really fun season.
Toronto fan here 30 plus years. I've expected nothing after we had Mat Sundin, Joe Newyndyk , Ron Francis, Alexander Mogilny, Eric Lindros, Ed Belfour, Cujo, Shane Corson, Darcy Tucker, Tie Domi, Demetri Yuskevich, Brian McCabe, etc. Just after the 2000 lock out.
