The Penguins got another victory on Thursday night, beating the New York Islanders 4-3 in their home opener! Patrick and Hunter begin the show recapping another win for the Penguins, and it was thanks to another full, 60-minute effort against a surprisingly fast Islanders team. They dive into how the Penguins’ special teams, effort, and big guns led the way to banking another two points.     Nice start for the Pens but I think they are very much a team that will be looking for the right combinations for a while. There are plenty of options if certain players don't perform so I think the lineup won't be set for a while, especially on defense.

    The sleeves on the jerseys looked off. I'm not against picking up entire forward lines from the Nashville roster, but maybe let's not dress like we're the Pittsburgh Predators. Could've used a lot more black on the sleeves. The three stripes are meh. They've done these yellow jerseys better before!

    Was there. Little smaller crowd than I expected, but the crowd was buzzing.
    This team is definitely more exciting than they've been in years.
    Nice combination of nostalgia with the Big 3 and these new young players.

    Karlsson looks like his old self under this system.
    Kindle is the real deal, and the "Mutant Line" is awesome.
    Geno looks like he's 29, not 39.

    Came away impressed with Kindel from game 2, ho hum game where he still looked very good. I was glad they killed his penalty at the end, didn’t want that on his brain

    People want to tank for McKenna…but I feel if Kindel was a steal like it’s been said, then maybe him, Koivenen and Brunicke are the future!

    I know watching Justin in his past teams and comparing him to him on the penguins(I know it’s 2 games) but I feel like he’s fitting in very well compared to his other teams and I really enjoyed Karlsson malkin brunicke Karlsson is looking like a entire new player and I’m happy to see malkin catching his stride again this year it was great game to watch I could say a lot about many players but it be to much to read haha

    Been saying it for years that Sully needed to go, and was the Pens biggest problem no need to get into why anyone who know understands why it was overdue

    I know it's only two games, but the Pens actually look really solid so far. I really wonder if Muse is giving them more leeway to play to their strengths rather than a strict system like Sullivan's, because that's kind of what it looks like.

    Serious question about HD chances. Hunter said the Islanders only had one HD chance in the 3rd period. Of the top of my head … with 1 minute left Horvat had a point blank shot from inside the dots that Jarry made a great save on. Then with seconds left Barzal walked Karlsson and got a point blank shot in tight that Jarry also bailed out Karlsson. Without even watching the other 19 minutes of the period, how are those two chances not considered high danger? This makes me just question naturalstatrick even more.

    This just shows us that Sully wasn’t as good as we all thought he was. Now the Ranger players are playing like the pens did last year… zero drive.
