The Dallas Stars made their first big move of the 2025 offseason, re-signing pending unrestricted free agent forward Matt Duchene to a four-year, $18 million contract extension ($4.5 million AAV). This signing shores up the center depth of the Stars roster, but it also will have the ripple effect on many others, as it essentially forces the team to remove some current players in order to have the salary cap space to perform the other team business this summer.
