UPDATE: Tyler Myers has been fined $2,500 for his "slash" on Connor McDavid last night.
A normal goalie was nice.

I hope McDavid’s kids are okay. Myers got off easy tbh. That spear would have skewered a wild boar and all that. In all seriousness, this team looks excellent. The boys were flying. The offensive game is nutty. Demko was a legend, but his team got picked apart. The guys are totally bought in defensively. The formation is working! We can only hope good things are coming based on this performance 🙂
I guess I’m too old to understand why opposing players get to take shots at our players with no repercussions. If some goon did that to Gretzky back in the day, there’s no way it would’ve gone unanswered.

Really like your thoughts on Nurse, he truly is the definition of a veteran and becoming a player a person can reasonably be an actual fan of. The cap hit isn't even a caveat or a compromise anymore, he's a huge part of the team and when he's playing well his leadership is a lot more effective. Tough to take leadership from a guy who just bobbles around the zone when he's out there, but when he's channeling all he's learned into playing simple and effective it's totally different.

Ya total BS that , that was a 5min major game misconduct.
NHL Coaches should have the option of calling for a review of Unsportsmanlike acts on the ice the Reffs miss…with a full 5 minute Penalty to the inquiring Coach if theres no call ,because it has to be a 5 minute plus penalty if called on replay….then when people do what Myers did to Mcdavid there will be a Game ejection AND a 5 minute PP for the Oilers.
Shouldn’t dismiss Nurse’s contract just bc the cap has gone up. It still restricts the team and forces other players to take less.
