Mason Marchment scored in his Seattle debut, giving the Kraken a 2–1 lead in the second period. Vince Dunn opened the scoring early, and Jared McCann sealed the win late with his fourth goal in five season openers.
Joey Daccord was sensational in net, stopping 35 shots, including 16 in the first period alone, keeping Seattle ahead through heavy Anaheim pressure.
For the Ducks, Beckett Sennecke scored in his NHL debut, while Lukas Dostal made 28 saves. Anaheim had a first-period goal disallowed after Olen Zellweger poked the puck from Daccord’s glove — a tough break in a physical, fast-paced game.
