Let's all just say what the real issue has been. Mathews went from Hart trophy winning, Selke nominee with multiple rockets, to looking above average over the last year and a bit. He has not looked good at all.
Matthews and Knies taking up 22% of the cap should be able to make an average right winger look a lot better than he is, I mean Dave Barr should be able to play right wing for that line and they should be able to get some chances. It's still early but something looks off with them
Back in early NHL PlayStation games, I would draft these players for the bottom 6 roll fillers. I find a comical cuz years later the Toronto Maple Leaves are now starting these people😅😅😅😅
I've been following this team for longer that I even care to admit, and I've never felt this totally disinterested in a new season. I'm at the point that if I can tell early that the team is not interested, I'm gone.
