Hockey Central @ Noon debate on Kailer Yamamoto, who’s turning heads at Oilers camp, but still a bit young and smallish, should the organization be patient with him, or do they need his offensive skills now?
Let's see how he does against more NHL competition. Such as the game against Carolina on Wednesday. Besides he's still a rather small player so it might actually be in his best interest to be sent down and be given a better opportunity to get bigger and stronger back in junior. I don't think he is truly ready given the competition he has been up against hasn't been NHL caliber for the most part.
Out him in the lineup. Guys doing real well as of now but if he starts to slow down and can't handle when teams are playing for those 2 points then send him down to develop.
I give him his 9 games. He earned them. By the end of his 9 games, Slepyshev should be back. So it's just to give him a taste of the NHL, I wouldn't plan on keeping him in Edmonton for all season long.
I don't like how they said Hyman didn't score 27 goals with Matthews. Yea no kidding McDavid's in another league from Matthews so thats probably why he didn't eclipse 27
I think they should. What do they have to lose by not playing him? A 3rd maybe 2nd liner? He's to small right now. Send him back to junior to bulk up for another year. It's not like he's going to come out guns and blazing this year and get a ton of points anyways. They can do more damage by rushing him then they can do by being patient. Look at Yakupov, Hall, RNH for example.

He’s doing amazing! Put him on the 3rd line
No
Don be surprised Mr. Yamamoto, they were really patient with me!
They have pretty good depth, I think they're going to go keep him down, so they don't have to push out a veteran.
You can’t make the hyman/ maroon comparison. MATTHEWS DIDNT HAVE 70 ASSISTS
Give him the 9 games he's proved it then send him back to whl
Yes they should be patient, Oilers are going to need Yams ELC in the next 3 years when McDaddy is making 12.5 a season.
He's too small. Send him down and wait for him to put on some weight.
