Last night, the Colorado Avalanche started the season with a bang in LA! They dethroned the Kings 4-1.
This morning, Avs head coach Jared Bednar made his weekly appearance with us. He’s been coaching Cale Makar for 7 years now, and yet Cale did something that last night blew Bedsie’s mind. Just when we think we’ve seen every move in Makar’s bag of tricks, he pulls out something new.
Tune into Jared Bednar’s interview every Wednesday morning at 8am MT with Moser, Lombardi and Kane on Altitude Sports Radio 92.5!

The Avs last year really didn't have a lot of grit. It was overdue. Teams knew last year they could push the Avs around. Set the tone early.
So excited for this year!! Love your Jared Bednar show, it's the best.
I am glad they kept Bednar.
Cale is perfection. I never get tired of watching his highlights.
Love our team too to bottom!!! Lead by the best coach too! Now let’s do what’s most probable and win #2 with this group
Let’s see some toughness from him in playoffs
Took 7/8 years getting removed by round 2 but damn if I’m not happy to see them moving towards physicality over the speed and space. Oleksiak and perhaps another big Lefty and suddenly you can protect your goalie net front
And make teams question crossing the neutral zone without that head up. Who fucking knew, eh?
So stoked for hockey to be back. Back to watching you boys again. Letttsss gooooo.
Bednar being excited about Maker's play was great. Sometimes just think they are robots behind the bench.
It was getting chippy, after that hit they knew to clean it up or they'd have it cleaned up for them. Sometimes you just have to assert yourselves to let em know you aren't going to shy away from physicality. Which can be the case when you have such a finesse skill level like us. Cale is Cale, he'll be considered the next Bourque. Stay healthy young man.
Love and Respect Coach Bednar!
I wish AVS fans would stop making Bednar the scapegoat when the AVS loose in the playoffs….He is one of the best coaches in hockey history, every level a Champ!
Go AVS!!!
Last year we had the best team ON PAPER, this year it looks like we have the best team ON ICE. I watched almost every opening night game and the avalanche have something special
