Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues meets the media after his team beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-0 in their preseason finale on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, in Sunrise.
The game was marred by 322 penalty minutes and 16 ejections; Aaron Ekblad was injured on his second shift of the night.
Rodrigues scored three goals in the win.
Florida opens the season Tuesday against the Blackhawks where they will raise their 2025 Stanley Cup banner.

In Game 6, the Panthers led 2-0 in the first off goals from Sam Reinhart and Matthew Tkachuk.
Reinhart made it 3-0 with his second of the game before he got his hat trick — and then a fourth goal.
Sam Bennett won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.

Ring ceremony!!!!
Soooo happy for Evan Rodrigues. Played for the Avs, they didn't retain him, was so bummed as liked his play and role. So Avs cut him loose and he lands with the Panthers and 2 rings later. Good for him. And while he was here with the Avs he had a family type video and his wife have a couple of awesome supportive 'hockey wife' comments that are just the greatest when you have that kind of support. Sooooooo, pulling for Evan, and if the Avs fizzle as they are prone to doing even with all the talent they have… I will 1000% pull for Evan and the Panthers. That, plus the ownership is a West Pointer so that is a big upside for me too.
