At 20 mins, technically what you said about Canucks getting the full 3 million in cap if they put Hoglander on ltir is not a 100 % accurate. When you're putting a player on ltir, you're using your remaining cap first and then rest of the salary goes on ltir. For example: Pretend if the Canucks have 1.3 M in cap space. If they put Hoglander on ltir, they are using 1.3 M of their cap space and the remaining 1.7 M of his 3 M salary goes on ltir. Technically with this example, you're losing 1.3 M in cap space and you're getting 1.7 M of ltir. Only way to cover the whole cap on ltir if you have 0 cap space left, similar to what Vegas did with Pietrangelo, Vegas had like 0 cap space left, they pretty much put his entire salary on ltir.
