Chad Ruhwedel, a longtime NHL defenseman, has announced his retirement from professional hockey after 13 years in the league.
Ruhwedel played for several teams, including the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and New York Rangers, and won a Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2017.
Despite his successful career, Ruhwedel was unable to secure a new contract this offseason, leading to his decision to retire.
