Learning to push harder with the lead foot towards the ball than the trail foot pushes away from the ball will get that lead hip to finally move around the clock and prevent early extension (remember some EE is totally fine in some patterns)
A great analogy I heard from @scottcowxcertified was to picture youāre wearing a huge pair of shoes and to try and rip your foot through the front of the left shoe (for RH golfers)
When looking at the arrows in the last part of the video on the @smart2move plates – those are the ground reaction forces – so the push is happening in the opposite direction. We want the magnitude of the lead foot 1.5x MORE than the trail foot which the plates can measure.
I love your approach to teaching and your advice but in this one I didnāt understand what you were trying to show in the video until reading the comment and realizing the goal of pushing the lead foot towards the ball / swing line is getting the lead hip to rotate counter-clockwise. But it doesnāt explain what actions in the backswing cause early extension in the downswing. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
I see EE in golfers who donāt have any lateral hip movement towards the target at the start of their downswings and that the lateral shifting move is necessary to allow the hip lead hip to ārotate around the clockā with the feeling of the lead foot pushing forward actually being the result of the lead leg straightening in response to the hip clearing.
Front foot orientation also seems to affect this. I use a Hogan style square back foot flared front foot because my front foot hurts too much if I square it and roll the ankle to clear the hips. The flared front foot makes it really easy to to get the lead hip rotating when the hips shift laterally and Iāve never had an EE extension problem.
I see a lot of golfers who square both feet | | like it is the eleventh commandment but then donāt know how to roll the angle or canāt in the shoes they wear and as a result canāt clear their hips.
Just gotta say man you helped me up my game in record time and I owe you. I'm just getting back into it after an injury took me out for 3 years and haven't been hitting good at all. I found you last night, watched a lot of your videos this morning, and took it to the range. I've been playing for a while before I stopped but you pointed out a lot of things I wasn't doing correctly. I watched the ones I needed before hitting and hit cleaner and more consistent than I have in a while. Thanks Buddy I appreciate you
literally watch your videos when iām chipping getting ready for the round. shot best iāve ever shot today!!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do more of the "eagles eye" POV … that shit helps for newbies I work with at the local 9. I use a head cam and sometimes the drone when there isn't a lot of people out and about.
Doesnāt address any of the root causes of early extension, to only fix the early extension itself & not the root cause is going to make you way way worse at golf. Butā¦. Once you fix the root cause which is probably a steep path & open clupface, these are some moves you should be working on. He just skipped the most important steps in the beginning of correcting EE and also missing some other step. Honestly this probably wonāt help many people who actually need it.
Iāve been trying to fix this in my golf swing. Iāve gotten it fixed and it looks way better on camera but I play better and strike the ball better with my early extension. Itās hard choosing a better looking swing or better results. I hate looking at my swing on camera when I do my early extension but the results are much better.
As a beginner the only thing watching this dude's fly ass videos have taught me is that there is way more to a golf swing than I first thought/imagined.

By the way, your left foot push, and the cast videos fixed my swing. Shot a 95 yesterday!

The fact this guy only has 142k subs is so sad. So so sad. Iām not gonna diss society or other ācontentersā but ya. He deserves more.
Not sure if better to listen to this before golfing or clubbing.
Wow…this is sooo hard to do. I know I 'hump the goat' but at what point in the swing are you pushing the foot forward?
āStop humpin the goatā ššš
You sir are the true GOAT

Iāve been waiting on a humping-the-goat video. This is the hardest thing to unlearn.
i watch these for the tips but rewatch for the rapping š
Dude. How do you keep explaining everything I need. Still canāt putt, but damn my ball flight looks halfway respectable now.
You sir, are very talented. These little shorts actaully help a bunch and the rhyming makes you remember on the course!
Hahahahaah
Love it !
Rip left shoe

Love the stuff. Have a head back drill Iāve missed?
