We are now on the road to 1k!
    Appreciate all of you guys!

  2. I like to see O'Connor on the second line with Chytil and Garland and move Bains to the fourth line need some toughness on the second line and what's with the DJ sorry but our song and intro sucks need something to hype up our team for 3 rounds.

  3. If Blueger was healthy my lines would be.

    Debrusk EP40 Boeser
    Kane Chytil Lekkerimäki
    Ratty Cootes Garland
    DOC Blueger Sherwood

I really liked that 2nd line when they were together. Ratty is big and can play that power forward role. He is also good at face-offs so he could take all of Cootes of side face-offs and take some pressure of off him. Garland has proven he can lead a line and he takes the focus of off Cootes.

That 4th line will be good and can play some match up minutes.

The defense compared to last year looks great. I really think it is under rated. It will be even better next season.

  4. Some people don't like Rutherford or his style, but the Canucks have a mandate from ownership. I'm sure management has some autonomy, but within the parameters of making the playoffs every year. No rebuild or even a retool. Get into the postseason by any means necessary. Rutherford has won Cups as a manager with 2 different clubs. He knows how to do this. I'm not saying he can build this team into a contender, but given the restrictions ownership has (playoffs), I think he's done all he can. The reality of the new NHL is that until the cap spikes significantly, which it could in the next few years, there won't be a whole lot of teams, unless guys take discounts to go there, who will be consistent playoff teams every year. I think the era of the Detroits making the playoffs for well over a decade are pretty much gone. Unless you can tie guys up for reasonable contracts before the cap goes up, you're going to be rotating guys in and out and that requires smart FA signings, trades and especially drafting and developing. We can say that Aquilinis are a problem, and they are, but Rutherford and Co are doing as good a job as I think they can given the situation. If this was say, Utah or some other American team with not a lot of pressure, you could do a calculated retool or rebuild with a plan to be a contender in a few years. This team doesn't have that option, so they have to work within the system. And I think they've done well to this point. The fact that they got as many points last year as they did with all that turmoil is a positive sign.
