➡️ In case you’re skeptical about approaching a sports psychologist or any mental performance coach for that matter… check out the following stories
1) Nathan MacKinnon doubling his points after working with a Sports Psychologist. He shared that story on the Spittin Chiclets podcast
2) Matt Duchene working with Todd Hermann… the guy behind Kobe Bryant’s Mamba Mentality
3) Look into players who went through the NHL Player Assistance Program. Where players who really struggled, particularly mentally at a point in their career got support from the NHL to help them recover and return to the league… Bobby Ryan was a big story a few years ago
4) Also just look into how next level teams include sports psychologists in their team staff. Teams aren’t spending money at Pro, Junior and the NCAA level for no reason on these guys.
The point here is to get you familiar that this isn’t as new as you math think. That for YEARS even decades, professional sports and more recently the NHL has caught onto Mental Performance.
