The Chase is back and better than ever!
In our debut episode of Season 2, we catch up with two of the most influential voices in the Flames locker-room: MacKenzie Weegar and captain Mikael Backlund. While both have been pivotal to the team’s on-ice performance – they’ve also invested heavily in the community, making Calgary their home and enjoying all the city has to offer.
We chat with MacKenzie’s wife, Maggie, to learn more about ‘Mack’ the hockey player – but more importantly, the husband. We also stop in at the Backlund family home as we get a close-up look at Mikael’s beautiful family, including wife, Frida, and children, Tillie and Oliver.
Oh, and you better believe we have plenty of all-access hockey coverage, too! We mic’d up Nick Cicek and Joel Farabee to hear all the chirps from ice level, including a wonderfully placed Happy Gilmore reference. Let us know in the comments if you catch that one.
