Just my Two Cents on the McDavid Extension for the Oilers.
The amount of pressure McDavid just put on the oilers management is immense
Incredibly unselfish by mcdavid for signing for such a cheap deal overall
2 year tho is a gamble, gives the oilers 3 years now to win the cup or full rebuild
they need to do everything possible to win now, trade basically every top pick, prospect for the next 3 years to give them the best shot.
Gotta respect it. Even as a Canucks fan, can't help but envy that kind of captain. Following the footsteps of his idol Sidney Crosby
It technically is a 2 year window to win a cup cause we know this year is a wash with skinner in net.
Plus he took a cut probably just so the oilers could extend walman lmao 😅
Oilers are just delaying the inevitable cause they have nurse walman and skinner still.
McDavid is giving a team discount so they have cap space to get another good player to patch the team. 2 years means he is giving them 3 seasons to win a Cup or he is gone.
This makes the Kaprizov contract look even worse than before
I joke is it allowed the Canucks offer McDavid $20M+ and part ownership with the Canucks to get him after his contract is up lol

Sucks hard for us, Oil now has a 3-year window with McD earning under market value. Its gonna be tough to get through them every year in the west. But still, having cap space is one thing, wasting it on pilons and sieves is another – so not like there isn't still hope.
Honestly, can’t stand the guy, his demeanour is so off putting, his energies are so off. In saying that, he made the right move for that franchise, but I still don’t think they are gonna win a cup with him. Now, when he leaves, to whichever team that might be, he’ll win there..almost for certain.
McDavid is an amazing guy. This made me want him to lift a cup. Even if it’s with the Oilers. So much respect
We have a good team, and we have a solid core locked up for 4. No question Connor is worth way more, but he also needs to win a cup. So as an oil fan, here’s what I think. He’s giving them a window of tremendous opportunity to win a cup. I honestly believe they will within the next two years. If Skinny can’t rise up like a lot of believe he can, at the dead line or next summer we will bring in a heavy hitter between the pipes. I don’t believe it’s a given that if we don’t win in the next three he leaves. But he will definitely have to reassess the situation at that point. He’s invested way too much in the Edmonton franchise to just up and leave, that will only be a last resort for Connor.
The rest of the NHL had high hopes for Connor leaving because c’mon who doesn’t want him???… but he’s ours and true Oilers fans were “never in doubt” we just weren’t sure about how long and how much. And boy did he ever shock us all with the how much! Jesus Christ, how can you not love this guy after everything he’s already done, then he goes and does this!!!. Anyway I’ll like your video because it’s great to hear other opinions! But if you want a sub you gotta change teams lol 😝. Enjoy Kane! Personally I won’t miss him.
And yes he took so much of a home town discount that’s it’s an extreme outlier and won’t affect the market.
Boston turns out bottom of the league again I see them 100% selling swayman to Edmonton for like a skinner/ekholm pair or skinner and all our draft assets, they’re a well run enough team to tank for this years draft class
