    Good move by the devil's but the Sens got basically the same guy back that is more expensive. They only need a fighter because they cheap shot and play like rats. Until they find a winning culture they will continue to be a first round loser like the leafs.

    Best thing that could have happened for the Sens was this poor showing, pre-season. It identified the Sens weaknesses at the earliest possible time for this season. Believe me, Sens management was not happy with this team and will make more changes. Next will be a goal scoring winger

    After the Senators got slapped around in Quebec City by the Xhekaj goons you just KNEW they were going to have to get bigger and nastier although MacEwen has good size himself. Good trade for both teams. Cheers from Ottawa🍁

    Big win for the Devils, I love Big Mac but you clearly havent watched enough of MacDermid Mike. He can hardly skate, I really dont see Xhekaj being scared of Mac if Rempe wasn't lmao

    Devils traded a guy (who's never going to play for them) for a cheaper guy (who's never going to play for them). Is MacDermid the better fighter? Absolutely, but if he's not in the lineup, it doesn't matter. This was a cap move. Combine this with Kovacevic to LTIR and NJ gets under the cap.

    McDermid played 23 games last season and logged 23 penalty minutes. That's not worth the $1 million+ contract Fitz had no business offering him. It was time to move on.

    Was hoping big mac could make an impact but it's just not there. He's got more skill than some might think, and in some ways is miscast as a fighter. Sens need a true heavyweight option to draw in, and MacDermid fits that role more appropriately. Nice move Staois

    As a Sens fan…yes, we needed to do this. It wasn't just that abysmal game in QC the other night as Habs fans may think. This was a long time coming. That game was simply Staios seeing enough and knowing, as he usually does, that we had something that needed addressing, and he addressed it. You're right, we just weren't tough enough. Brady is definitely a quality brawler, but he also is a top producer, all around player and the Captain…he needed to chill out and lead on the ice, not the box. We have a couple of pests, a gunboat or two…but this guy is a battleship! I have yet to hear a Sens fan have a negative opinion of this trade. We are definitely looking forward to seeing if he will be in the lineup on saturday. I strongly suspect he will be. The fans want to see what we got. And we want to see that Jack-eye matchup!

    The Devils brought in Mcdermid because they were desperate to stop Rempe and the Rangers. Mcdermid didn't stop them and it will be the same thing in Ottawa. Ottawa would have done better bringing in Reeves or Lucic or trading for Nic Deslaurier.
