I appreciate this episode DK. I think off-seasons can be full of optimism for fans. I know I am prejudice of Dubas, meaning I have an opinion of him and sometimes that can paint my view. But that aside, when I look at this team, even with the additional prospects, I don't see top tier talent. I see a bunch of 2nd and 3rd line ceiling players. I think Burnicke is likely the one who can be a top pairing D-men…but that will be interesting to see over a career. Dumba is a good example. That kid had the talent and the intensity and was touted as top pairing d-men…he had a couple of good years…then the grind of a career, and all other factors, he's been a bottom pairing d-men at best….maybe 2nd pairing.
My point is, it's great we have youth, yet non of the youth we have are standouts. This team is the only team in the NHL who has said as much that they aren't looking to win, and will end up not at the bottom because of Sid, Gino, Letang and Karlsson (I know three of those names people won't agree with). The kids will show fight and tenacity….and they are kids…and non of them are top tier…I found this episode was good and at the very least reminding fans of some of that
Sid sees a team sitting on $13 mil in cap while the rest of the league signs all the better available players. He know this season, and the remainder of his career, will be spent on a cellar-dwelling medicare team at best due to Front Office incompetence. Go Pens!

The reason this team won't good is because young guys need time to learn the hard way.
Fans like me can only dwell upon the past and either enjoy or complain about the present (usually the later). Sullivan was not a bad coach. I just think he got too complacent and stale. It's the team that finds a new way to play who wins. Are we gonna get that? Florida of all people?
I don't want a left wing lock, but I expect my Pens to win or at least be in the game every night.

I'm so sick of the negativity from "fans" of the team and hockey fans in general. So here’s my J1Q; Do you, Dejan Kovacevic, know that you know nothing about the Penguins and what they are doing or planning on doing? Yep, you’re a “Homer” and there’s no possible way for you to gather information without conflating it because all you know how to do is suck up to the team…
I live in SoCal and work with a Devils fan from Jersey. He straight out told me that his podcast guys who "cover" the entire NHL know more about the Penguins than “some local guy” I listen to daily (Mon – Fri)! Seriously, it’s gotten pretty offensive at how much garbage this guy has thrown my way about My Team 😡 Granted, his knowledge of hockey history and playing the game is far greater than mine; however, this nonsense that a local reporter couldn’t possibly look at a team he covers and not be critical of them is insane.
Appreciate what you’ve done for Pittsburgh Sports DK!!! You were the first reporter I started following in 2009 when I got back into following the Pens. Couldn’t see more than a game or two on TV all season back then and your coverage was a major reason why my love for the Team and the Sport in general continued to grow 🤘🤘
Looking forward to a new season; hopefully, one that gets us back in the playoffs.

The Eddie O coached Pens had heart. I didn't hate that team or Rico. They were just a step in the path.
