Hard to see the caps missing the playoffs defence, analytics, goal scoring and net mind should all be above or around average and the team isn’t dependent on any one player so injuries shouldn’t take them out. Plus the met kinda sucks
I see the Capitals as a toss up this season. They could be good and make the playoffs but the question always lingers, how far will they go? They had a great regular season last year, much to the surprise of many, including myself and made it past the first round but that was all.
I don't think the Ovi-era is totally over but it's really close just like the penguins and the crosby+malkin-era. The caps aren't as bad as the penguins and have decent enough goaltending which is a major factor in all this.

Weird team to judge. No real ads to a roster which most would say significantly overperformed last season, but someone like Leonard could maybe keep the team near last year's level
