It would have been nice to see them follow up on the question about the state tax advantage by saying "With respect, the discussion isn't about attracting or retaining players in tax-free states, its about the cap advantage they receive from discounted contracts"

Crosby never took a discount. His big contract looked like a discount in the end because he signed it at market value at the time, but for a ton of years.

Funny how kypreos couldnt understand that next year they have 23m and only gotta sign ekholm and skinner or a new goalie. They will have money to add a real top 3 d or a top 6 forward. And who knows maybe someone else takes a discount next offseason. Plus they have draft capital again so trades are not out of the question either.
Two more Habs leftovers to the leafs?! What the heck are you guys doing over there. Primeau is terrible. Just awful. Blais couldn’t make the team this year. Additionally, Pezetta is meh. Only good for fighting. That’s absolutely all. Barely a 4th liner. Domi is also awful. Not sure when leafs will figure this out. There’s a reason why he’s been on so many teams and he’s not even that old.

A better question about taxes would have been reducing signing bonuses…that was an equalizer for Canadian Teams, i.e. Dobson gets $15 million signing bonus with the Habs will be taxed only at 15%, same goes for Auston Matthews in Tronna.
A goalie can be found later in the season.
