  1. I seem to recall just before Karlsson won his Norris in San Jose people were debating if he was a hall of famer or not. He already had 2 Norris trophies at this point btw. Morgan just isn't on that level.

  2. Reilly is only a #1 D man because Toronto can't seem to figure out how to get one.
There's at least 20 guys I can think of off the top of my head that'd be in the Hall before Reilly.

  3. lol no
    Hell no
    He’s a fine defenceman
But there hasn’t been a single year he’s been best 5 dman in the league and hall of fame should be on that list at least half the time,
    So no

  4. He’s 15th best point producer in Leafs history as of right now, he could easily get into the top10 if he stays a couple more season in Toronto.

He’s objectively one of the best Leafs ever, BUT that doesn’t make him Hall of Fame worthy at all, especially without any championship or Norris.

He certainly would make the Hall of Very Good for a Very Long Time.

  5. Good thing the season starts this week because these guys have run out of stuff to talk about. Yikes

  6. Nah if you’re letting Rielly in you’re letting everyone in. He’s a solid top 2 d-man but I can think of tones of guys better than him who never made the hall.

  7. Being poor defensively , and never being out of the second round isn’t hall of fame worthy .

If you want to say well he isn’t had great defensive partners I’d say then he’s only got as many points he has because of the hall of fame center scoring all those goals.

  8. Never made an all NHL team, only has two seasons with Norris votes finishing 5th and 11th, 0 playoff success and his only international success is a World Championship. He's not even close to being a hall of famer, I have no idea why anyone would even ask the question.

  9. Hedman, Makar, Hughes, Heiskanen, Doughty, Pietrangelo, Burns, Karlsson… Who among this list of active guys is Reilly going to supplant for a spot in the hall?

  10. It's ok to be a good hockey player and not be in the hall of fame.

He is not in the top 10 of his generation. And relative to other players, you'd have to get Carol Vadnais into the HoF. I mean, he played for the Golden Seals, and the 80s rangers. He won two cups.

  11. Mathieu Schneider is 235th in career points by an NHLer. Also a defensemen. Would you consider Mathieu Schneider a hall of famer? He even has a Cup!
