I hear the hold up is Hutson wants a no trade clause in the start of his contract. The Habs want to activate it after 3 or 4 years in his contract. Any truth to that?

From what I hear the CRA/IRS are cracking down on this, NBA players were doing this in 2012 with the raptors and they had to payback the taxes evaded, i think tavares is fighting this in court right now. Hope it doesn’t affect us in the futur if it this weapon goes away

Money doesn’t actually matter to a team like the habs , it’s the cap hit that’s the problem
Another thing for Hutson to consider about signing with the Habs: he stands to make a lot more money with his image than pretty much anywhere else in the NHL.

All you’re doing is speculating about Hutson , it’ll all depends when he signs and what kind of season he has . Sure you might be able to get him at under 10 right now . In an interview Hughes hinted that he didn’t have a problem waiting to sign Hutson after the season . Now let’s say Hutson gets a 75 pts season , than there’s zero chance of signing him at under 10. . Hughes made the Dobson move and hopes the ice time Dobson and an healthy Guhle could take away from Hutson will deflate his stats so Hughes could sign him for cheaper.
This is a toss up , both side could win or lose , there would be a massive difference in the contract as if Hutson gets an 75 pts season as oppose to having the sophomore jinx and finishing the season with 32 pts and getting injured
I really believe that Hughes is hoping that Guhle stays healthy and Dobson eats a lot of minutes so Hutson doesn’t need or is as productive as last season , probably why they’re also keeping matheson
