He genuinely only scores when it doesn’t matter. Like pre season. Or if the oilers are already winning 5-3 and there’s 25 seconds left in the third. He’s not changing any games for the better.
He's way over paid. Too inconsistent for $9.25M. For $5M, maybe $6M I'd be ok, but $9.25 is a huge drain on team cap space. Even if a top 5 goalie ever came available the team would never be able to afford it because they spend too much in the wrong places. They spent too much on Bouchard too. And I'm a believer the Bouch will prove to be great, but currently he still a bit too inconsistent. Especially because when he's going forward to chase goals he makes defensive fumbles. He's still young, and I believe will improve but I think the contract was a bit high. That said I'd spend the money on Bouchard before Nurse any day.
