  1. The Sharks might not need the Price contract anymore this year and could flip it later if a team like Pittsburg convinces their veterans to leave. The Sharks just needed a net-minus one NHL contract so Misa and Dickinson can play past nine games. They also needed help getting to the salary floor next year which Ellis helps but Price doesn’t. Grundstrom was going to get waived tomorrow anyway.

  2. Ryan Ellis is a terrible teammate. He never once talked to media, was ABSENT for the Flyers team picture. Glad hes officially, gone.

  3. Sharks will basically have so much cap space in a few years, It'll almost be enough to buy a new roster (excluding the young core).

    This move is a win/win for both sides.
    Sharks make roster space for misa AND Dickinson, get a draft pick, get some cap floor insurance for future trades.

    Philly gets rid of a bad contract and 2 players (1 of them already on wavers)
