2025/26 Buffalo Sabres Roster Preview: Conor Timmins

One of the Buffalo Sabres depth moves in the off-season was to trade a 2nd round pick to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Conor Timmins, a right handed offensive minded defenseman who plays a solid, professional game, even if it is lacking in physicality at times. Timmins is projected to be a stable presence on the 2025/26 Sabres third defensive pairing, a position he held to solid effect last season in Toronto and Pittsburgh. Now entering his 7th professional season, Timmins is officially entering the journeyman category as he will be playing on his 5th NHL team in Buffalo. It is definite the Timmings raises the overall floor of the Sabres, but he doesn’t move the needle to the degree that Sabres fans would like. Still, any upgrade is a good upgrade, and while he maybe will not be a guy who will eat a lot of minutes or provide a wealth of highlight reel plays, Timmins may well be the type of footsoldier Buffalo needs to stay competitive over the course of 82 games.
