‘Kaprizov in a class of his own on Wild, held all the cards’: Corrado on record-setting contract

Are you surprised the Wild agreed to a higher price tag for Kirill Kaprizov? How does Kaprizov’s deal impact Connor McDavid’s new contract? What does Kaprizov’s deal do for negotiations around the league? How high could Lane Hutson be on TSN’s Top 50 list next year? TSN Hockey analyst Frankie Corrado joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.

  1. It doesn't matter what Mcdavid takes. If he takes sixteen million over 3 years then, resigns right after for 5 years at 20 million then who cares

  2. What difference does a cap increase make if you blow it all and end up at the same point? Higher numbers mean nothing if you end up in the same situation.

  3. 17m while there's players bought into team friendly 6m who are better players. Crrrringe. Take your bag. No championships for you

  4. I hope McDavid takes about the same contract as Leon, then that will slow down this huge pay increase and Minnesota will look like a bunch of idiots for paying 17 mil for one player.

  5. The Wild will be fine. The cap is going up $18,000,000 in 2 years, and they already have $23,000,000 to spend next summer with only Gustavsson and Jiricek to sign.

  6. Am I the only one having troubles watching sports across the board make the money that they make. Makes the game almost unwatchable in every league in every sport.

  7. Connor wants to win a Stanley Cup, not fill his coffers like Kaprizov. How much money can one player possibly need in their life working their dream job?!

  8. Minnesota wont win the cup for next 8 years. Way to seal your own fate. Who makes these decisions? Some illeterate fool who knows nothing about financing, budget and nothing about winning cups.

  9. Questions going in are can he stay healthy and can the team get past the first round of the playoffs? They seem great out of the gate, but tend to struggle in the second half. I’m from Missouri and you have to show me.
