wedgie looked solid for only 6 shots lol made one huge blocker push save off a low pad rebound and burns looks like hes fitting in real good its like hes been on this team for years he was also at over 22mins ice time so yea looking good
6:40 the part that concerns me is they still wanna go with a drop pass and 1-3-1 set up. The PP system we saw in that game was the exact same as last year at a broader formation level. I wanna see them try to do a swing or five-back approach, using a secondary passer, not just MacKinnon(which maybe they will do with Necas on that top unit). The in-zone formation was also the same, a low passer, two wingers with a bumper, and a high defenseman taking point shots. I think the team would benefit from something closer to an Umbrella or Slot Set/Motion 2-3, with Makar still anchoring up high, but the F4 and F2 moving a bit more(in the theoretical lineups that would be Nate and Olofsson).
I will add that I do like it seemed like the F1/distributor seemed to play behind the net more than next to or near to, which creates some more problems for the defense. That is good, they need to keep and emphasize that.
I'm a fan of the Wild's logo there. Treehugger hockey fan approved.
so glad zach knocked on wood there lol jesus chris what are u doing lol
what if they dont show the new jersey till opening night , and just let it blitz on socials as the game gets going or an hour before and i mean they wear em right off the bat opening night have em in the store ,all over ball arena signs up new jersey in the store .
People say it means everything if you do well in the preseason and nothing if you do poorly, but I'd counter and say regardless of what your preseason record is, it means nothing. Never forget that the Avs 16-17 season where they put up 48 points had them go a perfect 6-0 in the preseason.
I swear we're not looking at the same jersey, because that Wild jersey is awful. The bold red and gold lines going all the way up and around looks terrible. It's not the worst jersey in the league, Philly and Edmonton have jerseys that look like construction worker outfits and Nashville probably has the worst regular jersey in the league, but it's pretty bad. That Sharks one looks great though.
With Brent Burns now it better be Makar on PP1 and Toews OR Burns on PP2. No more Girard. He can save his wide shots and throwing pucks into legs for his normal shifts.
Having an effective power play is important for winning games but it also keeps the other team honest. You'll see less cheap shots and trolling if we make the other team pay for it on the score board.
The NHL jerseys lame, its too basic. Make the lines more zig zag like or more creative. Theres a reason 1995-2005 NHL jerseys went so hard. We must return to form.
Sharks jersey is amazing, flashback to my childhood for sure.
