Could Senators-Canadiens rematch result in fireworks?

After things got out of hand in their last preseason meeting, will the rematch between the Senators and Canadiens on Saturday result in more fireworks? Frankie Corrado joins Gino Reda to discuss on Domino’s That’s Hockey.

  1. 2:34 Florian Xhehaj may or may not finish the upcoming regular season with the Habs. It is after all hard to know how many players this regular season will stay healthy enough to not necessitate a call-up of him from the minors.

  2. One or more of the Canadiens may want to show slashing Demidov was a bad idea especially the way it was done but I think it won't be the same kind of game.

  3. for some reason guys like nick coousins, matt cooke, sean avery play across the line (not on the line) & never have to be accountable for it. the only time cousins paid a price was the zucker hit. the slash by cousins on demidov was ridiculous. $2k fine… who cares, lets see if playground justice is served. my guess is he sits. the problem with that slash is that is targetted to that specific spot on the wrist.

  4. The guys fighting and slashing were the guys that arent making the final roster for either team.

If you want to argue these preseason games are setting up a heated Laval vs Belleville AHL rivalry then theres more of a point there.

Neither team put their star nhl squad for the most part. Beyond sanderson and demidov, nobody was out there for either side.

  5. Very interesting about how the Xhekaj's natural pack instincts towards each other becomes contagious. Makes a lot of sense when you think of it!
