After both the Xhekaj brothers… and most of the fighters were removed. What a sore wuss. Scared of a rookie having better potential and plaus than him. Im sure he'll get rocked next match between them.
Oh, mind you, im a bruins fan… I should HATE the habs, but this is dirty intent to injure.
Once again, Cousins showing how big of a piece of shit he is.. Notorious for dishing it but not being able to take it. Still love watching Gudbranson ragdolling him.
this slash was brutal. could have easily broke his hand or wrist…anyone remember this happening to Mario Lemieux courtesy of Adam Graves? (stop i am not comparing Demi to Lemieux) just saying this could have been worse. 5 games minimum. and stop the BS of having players try to fight their way into a lineup. they take runs (laine) and they fight lesser players to show how tough they are leading to injuries.
Sens fan here and that slash was dirty. If Arber did that to Stützle for example, I'd be pi$$$d so I get it A terrible look for Cousins who knows his spot in the roster is up for grabs this season and he's not doing himself any favours with that one. The sens Habs rivalry is going to be fun as both teams are good enough to ask questions in their division, but let's see best on best for our teams and keep the dirty stuff out of it.
Just bad.Deliberate slash. Careless . Sens going to spend alot of time in the box. Thelvin slash on Richer was the same and he was never the same. This stick work has been going on for a long time.
If you get a penalty and a player is hurt as a result of that penalty, then you will sit out as long as the injured player is sidelined with confirmed injury report
Demidov is predicted to be a force in the league and his performance against Ottawa displayed a hint of his immense potential. Ottawa and Montreal are going to be fighting for the same playoff spot – if Cousins can injure Demidov during the pre-season, that destabilizes the Montreal lineup and puts Ottawa in a position to get a better start for the season.
It was a deliberate attempt to injure for the very reasons you listed.
There were other attempts to injure during the game – a head shot on Newhook that deserved more punishment and then the scrub who jumped Dach for no reason….
All those things together would have added up to a fine for the coach – I am not a fan of Travis Green as a coach – he's the one who presided over Vancouver's dressing room tearing itself apart…. hope he does the same to Ottawa….
Nick cousins is an absolute loser in this league. The fact that he made it into the league just shows how shallow the talent level needs to be to get into the league. What a baby
Hockey will not be a sport until the rules are consistently enforced. It is a joke that you can get away with assaulting someone. This had nothing to do with the game.

The sens are disgusting stupid team… Xhekaj Xhekaj, Ottawa don't play that game with us guys you will get fuck plain and simple ….
What a degenerate, that type of players should be out the NHL and fined.
Cousins has always been a cheap shot player. This was dangerous and he should be suspended for at least 10 games.
It's a Hack
Should be at minimum a suspension
If not say Hello to Josh Anderson on Saturday
I'm not sure why the NHL doesn't make an example of players like him. Dirty prick with a history.
Good call, and Arber should visit him next game, desired or not
That would only protect him from the Xhekaj brothers demolishing him.
I concur, as a repeat offender he should be suspended
Mayby Nick needs a slash on his throat
Definitely not a hockey play, clear attempt to injure suspension should be handed out, 3 games.
Deserves 7 games plus his head in a vice to watch the last two – the definition of intent to injure
Suspension? LOL …
$2k fine. For a guy with a long history and a play that was clearly targeted. Joke of a league.
PS. Looks like Cousins took a run at Demidov right before and got dodged and ran into the boards face first. Might be why he did it.
Once again, Cousins showing how big of a piece of shit he is.. Notorious for dishing it but not being able to take it. Still love watching Gudbranson ragdolling him.
Deliberate intent to injure. Should have had a 10 minute match penalty plus 10 game suspension.
Adam banks slash 🙁
2k fine lololol. NHL wants him burried next time he plays the habs.
2 handed 12 to 6 slash, thats intent and worth a suspension.

well, what a surprise, it's nick cousins. little rat needs to be finally taught a permanent lesson
The fans should have descended onto the ice and attacked cousins like fire ants
Cousins is a duster
This is why the goons are going to stay….
Not normal , 5 games and 20000$ would do the trick
Definitely an intent to injury. Should be a suspension.
he needs a 40 game suspension at least or he'll keep doing it.
He got a fine, pocket change, he'll do it again.

The fact that it is pre-season should be a multiplier to punishment.
Yes you do know what he was thinking.

If you like that kind of stuff (the entire game) you're not a hockey fan. Only immature troglodytes love that kind of fake tough spectacle.
Nick cousins is an absolute loser in this league. The fact that he made it into the league just shows how shallow the talent level needs to be to get into the league. What a baby
I’d recommend a Wifi for Cousins.

Dude is giving me Matt Cooke vibes
