Guys like him and Nick Robertson are going to be 2nd line forwards on the 2029 Atlanta Gonewiththewinders
Incredible.
They will trade him as soon as they can get something in return. His play in Laval can speed up any request for a change of scenery. There just isn't room for him in the top 6. And he isn't gritty enough for the bottom 6.
He will reunite with Bedard in Chicago and become a 40/40 player 😮
Boring. Has what the Canadiens management want from him been kept a secret from him? Or is he another Hudon, good or great in the AHL and can’t quite put it together with the big club?
He doesn't meet the standard that the habs are building yet….he may have an NHL future but the players coming up are bigger and heavier players. Roy has not proven himself yet but it doesn't mean another team can't use him
The “problem” with late (5th) round picks will always be the same, these players have to win their place, vs early round picks have to lose their place.
We will never know, if Roy had been a 1st rounder if he would have played with Suzuki and Caufield and have success, because he was not. I do not doubt his skill, but I do doubt his work ethic. He was drafted in 2021, and it took him 4 years to take his summer training seriously. that says a lot!
If he had wanted it that much, he would have made that type of effort much earlier.
It's not that I don't know he's there…but he's never done anything that made me eager to see him get to the NHL.
There's this bizarre feeling from the media there that Montreal is responsible for this guy distinguishing himself. They aren't. He is. He hasn't made himself stand out at the AHL level yet, let alone the NHL. What his role going to be? What's he good at? He's gotta decide this, not Montreal.
Right now it seems, nothing.
Roy's the type of guy that I hope he improves enough in the AHL that we can get a couple 2nd round picks for him.
His compete level is not great.
I wish all the best for Josh. I saw Florian as someting that is ready to go right now. I've posted this on every one of my favorite channels. I'll take all the knives and daggers, if I am wrong. Florian is ready to go, and I think we are going to see him a LOT more than predicted.
send him to pittsburgh, we will take him, we will give you a 7th
