  1. This is like kind of a minor issue but title should be 136 million/8 years. If you wanted to show how much a year it should be 17 million x 8 years or 8 years * 17 million.

/ denotes division, x or * denotes multiplication. The way it reads now is that he gets 0.47 years per million dollars (which isnt even true it should be 0.059 year per million dollars, which means nothing to nobody anyway)

  2. he's wayyy overpaid for someone who's got nothing to show! (hardware wise) & on a team who'll never win a cup 🤷‍♂️

  3. They obviously learned nothing from the Suter Parise contracts. This contract is going to age like milk. They should have traded him like the Nordiques did with Lindros. The avs became a 2 time cup winner because of that trade. The wild made a huge mistake. 17 mil a year…what a joke. They obv don't have any intention of making it past the 1st round in the next decade.

  4. So this guy is comparable to nick suzuki, yet takes twice the salary? He doesnt want the team to succeed, he doesnt want the fans to see a cup. He's payed 20% of the damn cap.. unbelievable

  5. Dam talk about signing a anti cup contract, and on top of that for a player who no offence to him but a player i wouldn’t even consider a top 15 player

  6. Kirill Kaprizpv 17 M$ x 8 yrs or Nick Suzuki 7 875 000$ + Cole Caufield 7 825 000$ + change x 8 yrs

  7. People forget he was the leading Hart candidate up until December, the Wild had no choice, if Minny wants to compete and draw top end talent Kaprisov had to be signed .

  8. I feel bad for Wild fans. They deserve a star like Kaprizov but it sucks that he has handcuffed the organization. Good luck building a good team around him.

  9. It seems like Nathan MacKinnon is grossly under paid now. When you you compare their numbers it's just insane.

  10. Not just Kaprizov, but all superstars in the NHL. You're already a multimillionaire, why wouldn't you take a cap friendly contract for a better chance at making the history books? Is your Ferrari better than hoisting The Cup? If I were Kaprizov, I would have taken 8yrs at $12 million so they could surround me with talent, especially a #1 center. Teams don't win a cup with a center like Rossi.

  11. There's a lot of people in these comments and comments across the internet who have no idea that the cap will consistently go up. In 2 years this contract will look pretty standard for players of this caliber. I foresee some contract restructuring for some of those big names listed in this video who signed recently for much less.

  12. HUGE Wild fan here… I truly don't know what to think here 😂
Kap is a beast… but DAMN thats a whole lotta 💵💵💵

  13. So Montreal with Suzuki at 7,8 mil for 5 more years, Caufield at 7,8mil for 6 more years and slavkovsky at 7,6 mil for 8 years. Those are looking better and better.
17 mil for Kaprisov is too much. Suzuki or Stutzle in Ottawa have more points then him in their last 3 years and both earn less then half. Makes no sense.

  14. Sadly no Canadian team will ever win the cup again. The NHL is an American league and has been ever since Bettman took over in 94. He allows them to go to the finals every few years but never two Canadian teams EVER. THIRTY ONE YEARS IS NOT A CONSPIRACY. He really wants McDavid and Matthews to play for American teams so they probably figured out by now that they will never win a Stanley Cup playing for a Canadian team. He was hired by the owners to increase revenue for the American teams and to keep the cup in the US which he has lived up to. Anyone who disagrees is naive – The NHL is an American league first and foremost. Prove me wrong!!!!

  15. Feels like the same type of cap-room crushing deal Wild made with Parise and Suter last decade when the salary cap was only at between 50-60 million or just above 60.

  16. friedman said there was definitely tampering and a team was in his ear saying we’ll give you 7×20 if you go to free agency. if that’s true then kaprizov took 4 million less to stay in minnesota

  17. kaprizov is putting up these numbers with no help. kucherov, mcdavid, drai, and mackinnon have other superstars. kaprizov is a one man show
