It’s OBVIOUS now…

The Montreal Canadiens have seemingly made a decision about their 2nd line that’s a bit surprising, plus an update on Lane Hutson’s contract extension and Ivan Demidov. Josh Gosse and Jesse Poirier chat about all of it on this episode of Habs Digest.

  1. Dach is still recovering from knee injuries; what does not work now, might change later. Patience is a virtue

  2. Absolutely love the new 3rd line.Don't need Demidov on 2nd line just yet.Let that naturally take place as he gets more accustomed to the teammates and the league. We don't need too much pressure added on him.

  3. Ottawa just called up 8 players from their AHL training camp. I don't think they're interested in winning Saturday's game, but trying to send a message (which didn't work last game). Hopefully Marty gives Hutson and Demidov the night off. We don't need any injuries in a meaningless game.

  4. I'd be pretty happy if Lane signed the Dobson contract, 8 years 9.5 mil. I think that's pretty fair too. If he has an equally good year, 10-10.5 would be no problem.

  5. It's best to not reform that line with Dach and Laine on it. Dach is recovering from his second knee surgery in past couple years and his mobility stills needs more time. Laine is never going to be mistaken for a 2 way player. That line leaves all three players exposed to opposing hits.

  6. if Marty does not send the goon squad to hurt and intimidate and injure their players, I will be extremely disappointed. This is the perfect moment to send a message to the entire league., do not mess with our star players or we will destroy yours. If we get less than two game misconducts next game I will be extremely disappointed.

  7. Laine played a GREAT game against Sens….he's looking fantastic & skating really well!!!!!
I think Marty would do well to rest the big stars. If it gets rough the Sens could start headhunting and we don't want anyone hurt!!!!!
I love Florian's energy…..he needs to temper his enthusiasm a bit so he doesn't hurt the team with penalties. Take his shots when he can but be smart. Arber has had to learn this lesson too.

  8. I'm gonna be furious if Laine is a Hab 12-months from now. ZERO faith in him as a player who cares and will do what it takes.

  9. Under 15min is a good thing??

Yeah…okay…I'm starting my night with the 'SICK'
Podcast, RDS and a few others and then I'm over here for my '15 minutes of famine'

  10. Habs are very lucky to have gotten away from that game without some serious injuries. And Sens are very lucky to have gotten away without a couple of serious suspensions.

  11. What has Bolduc done so far to earn a spot on the 2nd line? I've watched all the pre-season highlights and I've only heard his name spoken once.
