No we took a step, we still have soucy and vaak and that's not gonna do it . I think we'll he better because Housley's defensive strategy was atrocious .
Not with Mike's puck-side overload defensive scheme. You have to have speed for that to work. Watch, you will see Gavrikov's game decline in the scheme
Defensive zone play is not just about the defense, it's about the interaction between the defense & the forwards. Othmann's demotion highlights how much defensive zone play by forwards is stressed by this coaching regime. Othmann made a few bad turnovers in the D-zone in the last game & I noticed that he was too passive in the D-zone. The slot has to be a priority for a D that gave up far too many Grade A scoring chances in the slot & net front. Rangers need to cover the points better in the D-zone as well.
Igor faced more shots than any other goalie last season. That's both on the D and on the forwards for not backchecking.
Borgen was a great ad.
Other advantage – plenty of young guys ready for call up from Hartford.
Spot-on observation. Team D stunk. They ultimately lost to Florida in East Conference play-offs the year before for the same reason…awful team D.
Well it does depend on what prob is? However, in our case, we have several. 5×5 d zone assignments and lack of physical play in the corners. Did I one or two out ? 😋🏒
