I think it’ll stay below 10, 9.2 as been my prediction all summer. All recent contracts with Montreal have too a little less and I think Hutson will do the same

Hutson has 1 year in the league. Why would Montreal pay him $10 million? If Montreal offers the same as Hughes got, Hutson should run to the bank and say deal!

not the place to cut corners. we have other top notch guys. you can't pretend suzuki isn't more of a proven hockey player, who can probably kill penalties this year. But Lane is worth the money. It's pretty simple. Bet on Lane

Hey look I’m all for paying him like a ppg defenseman…. Once he is actually a ppg defenseman. Give lane the chance to show his full potential before judging if he is worth 9-12 mill. I’m betting he is but you still got to prove it.
$2,000,000/year more than Suzuki seems fair to me.
That would put Hutson @ $9,875,000/year at 6 or 7 years equals out to 9.5% of the total team cap in 2026-2027 when the contract starts.
For 10M, I rather Habs to get McDavid. We have Dobson.
We wanted stars for years, well, we got 2, and they will take a huge chunk of the cap, we all have to deal with it! Maybe KH strikes a great deal and convinces them to take friendly seals, who knows. 10+ a year for Hutson AND Demidov is a possibility.

Not everyone is going to take a discount. I wouldn't be surprised if he asks for 12 million x 8 and he would be justified in asking for that.

out of entry dobson got a 3 year deal for 4 million per. if hutson gets 9.5 per in his second contract hes way ahead of dobson. luke hughes started putting points an was on a 60 pt pace when hamilton got hurt an took over pp1. so hughes contract sets a precedent for a comparable player in hutson. so 9.5 to 9.75 is perfectly fair an fine.
Mooney reminds me of Brad Marchand without the cheap shots, face licks and slew foots. Alexander Zharovsky is too long to type; we need a nickname! Keep the faith and Go Habs Go!
