Paul Maurice is great. I’m a lifelong Leafs fan, but I really admire Maurice. I’m from London, Ontario originally, but I lived in Windsor in the last half of the 1980’s when Maurice was captain of the Spitfires. Sadly, his playing career ended due to injury.
I’m also a really big fan of Sasha Barkov. Is there a better leader and captain in the NHL? I don’t think so. He also might be the best all round player in the league. It’s pretty telling when the 1C of the two time defending Cup champions is also the Selke Award winner.
