I am simply of the mindset that Kaprizov could have taken a respectable pay cut and opted not to. Nothing wrong with that, the logic makes sense. He is THE superstar of that team, he knows he should be paid like it. I think he should be a little closer to 14% team cap by 2027 though instead of 15%. He is close to the top 5 forwards except for availability and that means something.
This should also mean McDavid is getting more than Kaprizov. If it is not the cap is broken. Agents have the wiggle room to argue for percentage of current cap but I don't think any agent should realistically be doing that. The fact that Mikko and Marner got signed for 12 AAV is insane given it was only a few months ago.
Also wtf Chris Avs winning the division be bold. If this is a cup winning team in your view they should be looking to lock up the top seed in the West. I'm going over easily for the Avs. Dallas feels about right to me. Winnipeg too high, Helle over usage gonna crash and burn that team and it feels like this is the year.
