Luuka is definitely a #1. Hoping the Sabres have an exciting season and fill some seats. They need the big corporations to fill that rink.
Not a problem for the team. It’s a future contract problem for the sooner rather than later next GM.
I like UPL and think he took a bit more heat than he should have last year. One of his legitimate weaknesses is leaving himself increasingly more open as he makes saves, and I hope he has worked on that, but the defense allowing so many rebound shots in the first place didn’t help. Levi was also not ready to step up as backup so UPL wasn’t as easily swapped out when showing fatigue.
I believe in UPL, and I believe Alex Lyon is a solid backup for him. If his injury started being a problem again, Lyon would do fine as a temp starter with UPL playing backup. UPL when he’s hot can go on quite of a run, and it would be a waste to not utilize a hot streak when he’s on one for how much we are paying him.
Sadly, I rate UPL as our #4.. behind Levi… Levi will be down in Rochester only because he's still waivers exempt. UPL had 1 decent year.. not great, but also not bad either. That got him the contract and his numbers fell back to where his numbers have always been at every level. I expect either an injury will take one out or someone will get waived and sent down (if not claimed)… probably Georgiev…
