JV Football Player’s Spine Fractured in Disturbing Move

Horrifying video shows a Kalamazoo Central player, number 73 – who is twice the size of his opponent – jumping on, or “pancaking” a Lakeshore player after he was knocked to the ground. The injured boy, Colton Mims, age 15, was carted off the field and rushed to the hospital, where doctors found he had two fractures in his spine.

  1. This is serious! Dad wanting to support his son I get, but damn it this was intentional. Agree this is 15 year old but he ASSAULTED another player and should have to face the consequences. This makes me sick that people are trying to “get him out of this”. He INTENTIONALLY hurt someone…BAD. Sorry doesn’t cut it buddy…it just doesn’t.

  2. Reverse the rolls, , it would be a hate crime… kid would be in jail for aggravated assault,,, with added enhancements

  3. Press charges because that is an illegal move. His life may never be the same. It's all fun and games until you get hurt and slapped with a law suit!

  4. I am horrified that other CHILDREN players and coaches are being attacked for something they had nothing to do with. Even the kid who did it shouldn't be the subject of racist and violent death threats.

  5. Why do you guy's keep using the term fatigue? There is no such thing. Anyone can experience fatigue which does not cause violence. Not fatigue but just ignorant, savage, self hatred and racism.

  6. As a fellow lineman this is a very common move… ive never done it but it is supposed be done so that the lineman cant get back up and tackle your qb

  7. If a white kid did this it wouldnt be the same outcome. We did this all the time in High school btw

  8. I've actually had something similar like this happen to me when I was playing football. They call it pancakes. Me personally I never liked this because why are you jumping or laying on top of me if I'm already down then on top of that some lineman would put their private area in other players faces.

  9. He did that completely intentionally there’s no room for forgiveness and there’s no room for him on that team anymore he does not deserve to play
