On 9/27/2025, the Buffalo Sabres faced off with the Detroit Red Wings in Buffalo. It was the final game before roster cuts, so it was the last chance for guys to make a positive impression. The top line of Tage Thompson, Zach Benson, and Josh Norris set the tempo for the team with Thompson picking up 2 goals and Norris finding an empty net goal. Rasmus Dahlin had a nice goal on an assist from Bowan Byram, and Radim Mrtka picked up a goal as well on an assist from Konsta Helenius. It was a nice and encouraging recovery for Buffalo, as the Sabres won 5-2 in a reversal of their loss earlier in the week.
