OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the game last night between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs.. The Habs won this game by a score of 4-2.. And Lane Hutson was by far the best player on the ice in my opinion. Lets break this one down!

Pens fan here. I watched this game (ESPN +), because I wasn't paying extra to watch Fleury's final game. I remember thinking, 'Where the heck are Suzuki and Caufield?'….(pause)…'Oh yeah, preseason'. Sadly, the announcers were the Leaf's regular announcers and holy crap – they are homers. Like you said, the Canadians looked very "Lavallish", while the Leafs were missing only Matthews. (Ironically enough the Leafs have a pretty incredible record without AM in the lineup). I was really hoping to see a AX vs Dakota Joshua tilt.
Other than that stickchecked dump that turned into a leafs goal, Arber genuine looked good last night. I think it's safe to say we know he CAN play like this, and if giving him that A and a leadership role is what gets him to play like this, we might need to see it more often

No space for Engstrom right now but send him down and play him on the right side 20 minutes a night in Laval we are lacking right defense and he looked good last night on right D. Beck and Kapanen are good enough for NHL right now but it's a numbers game. Would like to see them get tons of Laval ice time get them ready as they will make the team I believe by mid season or earlier with injury. I would not mind having Florian spend all year in Laval let him get seasoned he can become a number 3 center if we let him get confident with scoring.
Thorpe looks good but he needs some skating lessons get him a little faster and he will be a staple on the 4th line driving other teams crazy. Roy has played well but I think to many younger prospects are starting to pass him. He did it to himself waiting until now to work hard in the offseason was his own fault the window is closed but he could be traded maybe Chicago? Would like a draft pick not a player exchange are pipeline right now is pretty good so picks not players.
Both Beck and Kapanen have surpassed Roy even Florian brings more. Other player that seems like has no future is Tuch he isn't showing anything, Thorpe is better.
Y’all aren’t going to like this but Stroobs is looking way better than Xhekaj. Don’t expect to see Arby in the starting lineup come the regular season

Montreal plays most of their regulars and get smoked 7 to 2 against the Marlies. Toronto plays their regulars and lose 4 to 2 to Laval. It just shows all the regulars have nothing to prove and hardly bother trying. Pretty bad for all the fans who pay ridiculous prices to watch millionaires give little effort in a preseason game.
