I did NOT expect to see this change…

The Montreal Canadiens made some interesting lineup tweaks in their practice today including moving Demidov down the lineup, plus we have comments from Florian Xhekaj and some thoughts on the cut players. Josh Gosse and Jesse Poirier chat about all of it on this episode of Habs Digest.

  1. I see Rohrer's stint in training camp as a full success.
He showed why the current Swiss Champion wanted him back so badly.
But it was a sign of recognition and appreciation by MSL to the young Austrian.
To send him back now to Swiss makes completely sense because their National Liga has started already.

  3. Roy being one of the first cuts is deffo a strong signal he's potentially on his way out of the organisation. It's a shame really but he's had more opportunities than others. Rohrer still has some seasoning to go yet. A strong season in Laval will go a long way to getting a look in next year. I don't get too hung up on who is on what line at this stage. Coaches move players to different lines for a variety of reasons, spread the offence, take advantage of player chemistry or sending a message. Once the game starts and the lines roll, who is on what line becomes largely irrelevant other than individual ego. Moving Demi to the 3rd line could be one of those instances in a line matching situation where he'd be going up against the opposition 3rd line which would give him a skill and mobility advantage. I reckon Florian Xhekaj should make the 3rd line as I'd like the idea of him playing with Demi and of course Arber. Thanks guys.
