This is honestly HUGE

The Toronto maple leafs just got a MASSIVE WIN with Stolarz new contract. That and more today!

  1. Stolarz has always been an incredible goalie, its just a matter of staying healthy and getting into games

  2. if we meet florida in the playoffs again…Bennett going to knock our star players out again. He does it every playoffs

  3. Hildeby unfortunately reminds me of Justin Pogge. I hope Hildeby can improve and play at an NHL level, but it just doesn't seem that way yet. Reimer would be great as the Veteran 2a backup (Hildeby can be 2b while Woll is out).

  4. This is an insane deal. I love Woll and even I think Stollie is the #1 starter. It comes with risks but what deal doesn't? As a Leafs fan I can't ask for more.

  5. Another player signing a team friendly deal in Toronto. Guess the media isn't the problem and the fans aren't the problem. It's having you Dad change your diapers on the ice.

  6. This makes me wonder what's to say Sam Bennett or Brad Marchand doesn't reinjure Stolarz again when the Panthers play the Leafs again this season?

  7. I always thought it was strange when people kept defending Woll in the playoffs because he looked way worse than Stolarz but looking back I think it might've been cope and a way to put more blame on Matthews, Marner and Tavares

  8. Having both Woll and Stolarz at just over $7m aav combined is a great bit of business by the Leafs. Sure both are injury prone, but both were top 5 in the major stats at points last year, so as long as one of them is healthy at any moment, you feel pretty comfortable about your goaltending.

  9. Look I agree it's a great deal for a starter, I don't think I need to remind everyone here about what happened the last time they tried to run a career backup as a starter after one good season

  10. Having your goaltending tandem for the next 3 years locked down for under $8M AAV is incredible. And the d-core is also locked down for the next couple of years. Lots of cap flexibility for next summer.

  11. Great piece of work to lock up a goal tending tandem for several years. Treliving also got the deal done without a no trade provision.
There is always the issue of injury history but it is impossible to predict an injury.

  12. Meh, I still think they need a true number 1 goalie. No more half steps or half measures, but we'll see.

  13. Tre is sooooo much better at negotiating than Dubas. I feel like he doesn’t blink when he knows guys want to be here. Consistently avoids overpays – what a concept!
