  1. Correction: in the video I said 18 players on waivers, I missed 2 so it is 20. I didn't mention TJ Tynan with the Avs and Lukas Cormier with VGK.

  2. Great news about McTavish! Good term and a fair price for what he offers in todays market! Time for the Ducks to take the next step!

  3. Ducks fan here and I’m glad this is done. Good deal for both sides. McTavish is paid the same as Terry and Granlund and will grow into his role. If he continues to improve, it will be a really good deal for the Ducks with the additional players they need to sign and acquire.

    McTavish will be a 28 year old UFA and if he continues to improve, will be in the prime of his career. Verbeek, if he’s still the GM, will have to get his checkbook out or McTavish walks for nothing and signs one hell of a contract.

    This is why I love the fixed cap of the NHL. Teams have to draft, sign, and trade very carefully, and let UFA’s walk if their demands don’t fit.
